Beware of Airline Food!

This is an excerpt from my journal while on the plane.

I just survived lunch. With my new found knowledge
(to alway order the vegetarian option), I charged boldly in the direction of Nepali food. The vegetables should be innocent enough, right? WRONG! I was hoodwinked by a green bean look alike. "Look at that crisp green bean! I didn't know they had them in Nepal, nam, nam, nam, munch, munch, swallow, GASP!" It was a small chili pepper! It was so hot that I hiccuped very loudly. A boy near by starts to stare so I grab the purple pudding? of unknown properties and consume it fast as possible.

Lesson #1: Always check for seeds. i.e. there are no green beans here.

Also, there are these little after dinner mint packets. I finally opened on and it looks like a bunch of seeds. Despite the aforementioned lesson, I decided to risk it. The word mint is on the package after all. Tastes like licorice! Pleasant surprise. Gotta love the healing properties of anise seeds.

The Short Version

I went to the UK with Ross and Fenton Wood. It was a blast. We walked along famous streets, saw theatre, ate at kebab stands, and slept in a castle. I have lots of pictures documenting the plethora of activities we took on during the 1.5 weeks I was there. As it turns out, we were always traveling, eating, sleeping, or sightseeing so there wasn't much time for me to blog. I am now in Nepal and promise to do much better.
